Life In The Underworld

I don't think that a book like this would be published today, its hard to believe that any publisher would read this kind of things and then just publish the book like it's nothing to worry about. After all that Jews been through with the world war two, its a very hard thing to call someone ''a jew'' over and over again and I understand that many people pay attention to it. Why not just call him by his name? What he's been doing through the story has nothing to do with he's being a jew.
If it would be published i don't think many people would have accepted this and it propably would be a big discussion and huge conflicts between people.

In the book, Fagin describes him in a certain way that i think is totally unnessesary. Today we live in a world were religion and ethnics shouldn't effect your living in any way. And in the book its not really that he call him a jew, its how he do it, a description like the one in the book would lead to huge discussions in the world today. It would be a question about racism.

However, descriptions about jews in this book aren't ok.
